German Historical Museum
The German Historical Museum (Deutsches Historisches Museum, or DHM) was founded in 1987 to commemorate Berlin’s 750th anniversary. It is a must-see for anyone interested in learning more about the city’s fascinating history. This popular tourist destination includes a cinema and a public research library, as well as a variety of historic exhibition halls jam-packed with intriguing displays of objects linked to various times and events from the country’s founding until the collapse of the Berlin Wall.
Exhibits on medical, fashion, religion, printing, art, and photography are among the highlights. Military history aficionados will enjoy the museum’s extensive collection of historical armour, weapons, and uniforms.
There are guided tours available, as well as a cloakroom and café for anyone planning on staying longer (you’ll want to, there’s so much to see).
